What changes would you most like to see in FM07?

Please excuse me if you have already had a discussion like this, I didnt see one but I only had a quick look.

What would you most like to see changed/added to/removed from FM06 in the new FM07?

I personally dont see that any sweeping changes are necessary. I would obviously like to see the return of the wibble/wobble screens, but then I have said that about every CM and FM release since 4, so I cant really see it happening. Not too fussed about an 3D match engine but I do think the 2D engine could be improved and I'd like to see more variety on the text commentary.

Hopefully this FM will be able to get more permissions so we can have more pictures and kits, because that really did improve it in the few leagues they are actually available. I would also like to see more realistic player valuations - some amazing players can win Player of the Year awards and have amazing stats for two seasons yet remain with values of just two - five million, examples being Makoena and Malouda - while others jump about very greatly with seemingly little reason. I also wish player histories would include all the goals and not just those scored in the league, and I think the little teams shouldnt demand such high prices for their players (there is no way £12m offers for the likes of Cavenaghi and Kerzhakov would be turned down in real life). Infact, I think all too many teams demand too high a price for two many players.

I like the introduction of manager contracts, and getting the manager stats working properly, but I still dont think these have enough impact on the game and would like to see them developed further. I would also like to see yet more advancements to the media handling and mind games systems, and actual longterm benefits from cultivating friendships with other managers when it comes to the transfer market, or looking to hire them as AMs.

But yeah, most of all what I am really looking forward to is an up-to-date FM with all the recent transfers and the summers new emerging stars given proper values and stats. FM06 didnt bore me but it being so out of date did frustrate me, so I am very much looking forward to this game.

I would like to see more dynamic team changes over the years... like if a team gets a new coach the team would have to play more oh his style and get more players of the same nationality... etc.

i am excited about the new proposed changes

As far as I read, smaller teams should not reject millionaries as long as they're not rich. There's a new feature where the chairman can accept any offer without the concern of the manager, so, if the Chairman wants money, but the manager wants to keep the player... well, the answer is that Chairman > Manager :P

And about media interaction, you can chat anytime to anybody according to the blos features. So, it's most likely those two wishes are already granted. Maybe a BETA-tester could confirm this.

Things I'd like to see are "cheats", like the possibility to fix matches, dope players or "cheer" other teams (it's common here some rumours that, for example, River (2nd) will pay X quantity of money if Y team defeats the current leader. Of course there's no way a team should need "cheer money" to defeat any team, it happens IRL as a way of ¿boosting morale? I guess) with the consecuences it may have if you're discovered!

Also, some "fans interaction", at least the possibility of the "hooligans" to end a match if the team is losing heavily, or to throw things to referees if they consider he's ******* your team. Though sad, violence it's becoming each day more familiar and there are many points deducted to teams because of this. Other things about points deduction would be if you go into administration, or if you go bankrupt, it would be wonderful if the chairman could ask the FA to drop the team one or two categories below.

Well, those would be added I guess.

It seems like the common trend is for more interation - with media, staff, everyone :p I agree that this is perhaps the one most major area in which the game could be more realistic.

I think it would be good if there was some kind of verbal negotiation when negotiating transfers offers and offering contracts - promises to play players more, or allow them to move on, or promise you will give them larger wages later on. I know you can do this to an extent by using the clauses, but it never seems to have much effect.

Corruption would be a nice addition. And a return of players hitting refs or spitting at refs would be nice.

Internal club politics. Greater interaction with the board. Chairmens like Vladimir Romanov who try and dictate the playing side, etc.

Yup, more interaction with board would be good. Doping and fixing would be bad imo. Also, no 3D.

Lastly and most importantly. Bring the magic of CM01/02 (or even CM97/98) back. I have no idea how, just do it! (H)

Agree, I wonder if they will go 3D with the game. I am fine with the way it is right now ( hell we us to have only text (H) ) and no way could my computer handle that. Not to mention how buggy 3D games look ( even PES/WE ).

Anyway, like most of you said. More interactions with the board, players, staff, and etc. Yea the usual stuff.

yeah, definitely NO 3D.

and i follow the "more interaction" bandwagon too, making the game deeper(i know it envolves bigger, but i can handle disk space)..

Why no 3D? if someone could come up with an engine good enough to do it why wouldnt you want it.

Although Id prefer them to work the gameplay stuff like i think all of you guys do before the graphics side of the game.

Id like to have the option of tapping up players at risk.

I think the regen system needs tweaking as well, Players there needs to be more superstars from leagues that you dont have selected.

More Options at half-time and full-time talks and better media interaction

sorry about the unorganised sprall and bad grammar

I think they re-vamped the regen players this year, and just using youth players. Some years you get lucky, some years you don't. Depends on the capabilities of your Youth Academy and Training Facilities.

Lots of reasons. Mainly because it just isnt a necessary feature for a management game. Also because there is no way they would get it right first time, it would probably slow the game up and mean you could play less leagues at the same speed, it would get annoying after the initial gloss and, if SI did go for it, they would be so proud of it that that would be all they would run with on the new game to the deterement of the other more important, non superficial additions that we would all rather see.

I like what you said about teamtalks though - good idea to introduce it in 06 but it's something that needs alot more depth.

It'd have to be something out of this world to do it. Personally, I don't think it's possible at the moment. I do believe it's good enough as it is.

I see no problem with a ball going over a small circle with the number 1 inside, and the game telling me it was a lob into the net. I would have problems with a 3D engine in which I saw the same play where the ball went through the keeper's arms and it could be easily caught. Even more if the keeper was Buffon.

A FIFA/PES like cam wouldn't be good enough, as it focus attention on the ball, and we can't see the tactics, which are so important in FM. Even if it was possible to have an action game style camera covering the entire field, I guess the processing power needed would rule out most PCs out there.

I hope there are more loan options (clauses such as minimum games required, exchange another player on loan etc.) and transfer options as well.

i was about to post that instead of putting a 3D engine, they should improve the 2D in some aspects, when i came across this pearl at the FM Blog:
5. The first, and perhaps one of the smallest elements to be added to this version of the game is one you'll only notice when you least expect it. Playing with the 2d engine, team struggling to break down the opposition...and what's that? Your attention is drawn away to..the subs..warming up?!! Small and insignificant, yes - brilliant... damn right!
aaaw man it's this kinds of little details that make it all worthwhile(H)

they could still keep the 2d view but change the llittle circles to little men and then be able to see them kick/head and see how their body is position... i think it would show the difference in skill more between one good player and a bad one.
