EDIT: After Rosicky embarrasment, Atletico is rumoured to go after Pablo Aimar.

I heard that Villarreal got Pires and Valencia are rumored to be interested in Oubina...hopefully they wont get him.

ha yea its a nice channel and the game just started so it started a bit later than 3. Casillas is captian. The midfield is kind of weird with both Senna and Albelda are out there. Torres should not start and Villa should play in the center with Reyes to the left.

Now I will see you guys at halftime.

When Villa has the ball I have the feeling that something will happen. Though with Torres..

Xavi, Iniesta and Xabi Alonso were warming up. I hope they all enter for the second half.

First half is over. Torres had two chances, Villa had one nice shot but has set up Torres, and L. Garcia has had one shot on goal. The mid has been ok but Albelda is there and Senna is playing next to Cesc so its a bit werid. The defence has been so - so, am I the only one who thinks Ramos is better as a CB than a RB? He can attack pretty well but can cross that good ( or atleast from this game ). Puyol has been good in the back though. Casillas made a fantastic save when a Russian player took a very nice volley.

Oh and on a sidenote the young keeper Akinfeev for Russia is damn good ( Football Manager confirms this )

Second half started and the sub are -

Albelda for Raul
Luis Garcia for X Alonso
Senna for Xavi
Fabregas for Iniesta

Edit - Villa for Reyes

Raul just made an excellent run but he took a terrible shot that went wide ( I think he tried to chip it but he was way off )

Reyes with a great longrange shot but a great save from Akinfeev.

0-0 FT, Reyes was great when he came on. X. Alonso also had a good game imo. Raul missed some good chances as did Torres. In defence Pablo was bad. Russia did not do much in the second half and it was pretty boring imo.

Xabi Alonso/Xavi/Iniesta was far better than Albelda/Senna/Cesc, as predicted. Raul was the player with most ocassions, which demonstrate he hasn't lost his excellent positioning, though he wasted most of them, but I hope those chances start to get into the net some day.

Reyes MoM IMO.

Good, maybe Reyes will be a lock now. It's been a long time coming.

Atletico has just confirmed the signings of Agüero, Costinha and Seitaridis.

Great team. I still miss a playmaker in the midfield, but they have one of the best defenses in la Liga.

and first year of argentinian players abroad is usually bad, so Agüero will have to wait to be a key player if he has the quality required

Also they look good on paper but wait till they take the field...than we can be sure if they will be good or not.

Oh and Atletico is after Aimar for that midfield playmaker role.

Great move.

And I like Aguirre. He is a good coach.

Aguero signed for 5 seasons. The transfer was made for U$S 19 million for the 90%.

Are you sure about that? Every year Atletico makes good signings and they always remain the same. The names don't say anything, what's important is the actual team as a group.

Aguero is a player similar to Messi. I think that was a great buy.

Aguirre if he coaches as well as he did in Osasuna should do much better here with so much more talent
