Seventeen-year-old player dies during practice

BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) - A 17-year old reserve team player for Colombia's Envigado soccer club died while practicing Tuesday at the team's stadium in Medellin.

Victor Alfonso Guerrero fell unconscious 10-15 minutes into the team's practice, said Carlos Falcon, the first-division team's doctor. He was pronounced dead after being rushed to a hospital.
"We ran to help him when he fell and tried to resuscitate him, but it was useless," Falcon said.

The doctor said an autopsy was being performed to determine why Guerrero, who appeared to be in excellent health and led a normal lifestyle, died suddenly at such a young age.

"He could have suffered a heart attack or a brain aneurism, at this time we just don't know," Falcon said.

same thing happened to my mate, was on his motorcycle, perfect health, but had some deformity in his heart and he just collapsed and died instantly. Sad stuff. RIP.

To Tom's post: Gerald Asamoah from Schalke has some kind of deformity like that in his heart and he's playing football at his own risk.
Rest in peace, these kind of things are sad.

when kids younger than you dies like that, its a pretty sobering bit of news. Hope he rests in peace, and god help his fam and friends
