exerslow said:Well, I just had the most fun I can recentrly remember.....I altered three of the files located in the various gameplay mods and I only had time to play two games.....
Game 1.....Man Utd(me) V Tottenham. I won in penalties 5-4 after a 2-2 regulation draw.
They scored two great goals including a Defoe header early into the second extra time that I thought mught do me in. I had brought on Van Nistelrooy at the end of the first extra time to play three across with Rooney and Saha.
I was finding their defence really hard to crack....until Park headed a loose ball over the head of the defender to Ruud who smashed a shot from the corner of the box, which Robinson saved, before Ruud followed it up with a quick chest down and followup nudge that slid it under Robinson at point blank range.....at the death of extra time.
Gaby Heinze......who I brought on in the 2nd extra time to see his new face I made...slotted home the 5th penalty to sink the Spurs 5-4 in the shootout!!
The shots were Man Utd (11/8 on target) to Spurs (13/9 on target). Spurs also had a 58%-42 in possession. They were dominating me for long stretches. I took 5 fouls on them around the box, three in succession at one point. They were ceratinly significantly more offensive....FINALLY!!
Game Two again V Tottenham. This time I won 4-1, which seems a downright pounding given the first game but behold....I slotted home two penalties by Van Nistelrooy..once when Ruud was hauled down by the keeper and another near the end when Ronaldo was hauled down dancing around in the box...it was fantastic!
Rooney opened the scoring after he headed home a rebound after a helacious Giggs blast from the top of the box that Robinson barely tipped away...though Right into Rooneys path....
Then Jermaine Jenas stole the ball from Neville and chipped Van Der sar to level the score. What a great goal and it happenned so fast!!
Van Der Sar was turning away some great blasts by Defoe and Mido...when I sprang Van Nistelrooy with a chip into the box over the defenders head (I will upload the replay its great) and while trying to stuff in the shot Robinson hauled Ruud down...PENALTY.
At the half 2-1. Late in the second half, with Tottenham pressing, I resumed possession, darted some passes around the midlfeild before finding Giggs on a run down the center....He wasn't completely clear so I dragged the defenders before squaring for Rooney who redirected the pass past Robinson for 3-1.
With Spurs really desperate...they pushed everyone up and were being stymied, had shots blocked, defenders cleared with a header four or five consecuitive times..it was pressure....then I managed to dart in front of a wing pass, race down the middle with Park , waste some time moving to the sideline and shielding before I found a Cristiano Ronaldo with a through ball into the crowded box.....with very little space I pulled back, juked , faked a shot, and tried to stop and go to get toward the end line, when the defender just plain slide tackled me in frustration no less!!!!!!It was thrilling.
Ruud calmly slotted home another penalty to finish the scoring at 4-1.
The stats.....Shots Man Utd 4/4 on target (guess they don't count penalties) to Spurs 11/8. Spurs Possession 51%-49% again I was beaten in posession.
All in all two thrilling games!!
Here are the three files I altered....If everybody knows whaat they're doing they can just overwrite by using Filemaster or whichever App they prefer...try it out...I really like it so far. Take backups remember.

One thing I think needs a little tweaking as well is the instances where players collide and then both are knocked off the ball momentarily...for whatever reason both are stunned for too long and the ball just sits there while both try to recover....a little unrealistic IMO....

Yet, I'm not sure which variable modifies that, perhaps Biggy you have a better idea than me or perhaps NK as well.
I'm going to download 2.5 so I can just .exe it into my other FIFA06 on the other drive and check out the credit

exerslow said:No, I wasn't downgrading your knowledge NK its just the way I wrote it....what I meany was that both you and Biggy would probably know because I don't. Which variable controls that collision ****e

PS- continuing to have super-fun with 2.5....really challenging. Just had a 2-2 game I won in penalties MU v Lazio. Some great goals.....gotta upload some replays.

Looking forward as always to your latest effort...but B.I.G., what can I say...2.5 is simply breathtaking. Only played two games...but they have been really intense. First game was in my "G14" league with ManU against Valencia. Van Nistelrooy scored early with a header...after the goalie missed the cross. Reached halftime with ManU on 9 shots...Valencia 2 and thought "Oh boy...another gameplay where the CPU is no good in attack." But the came the second half and oh my God...I was under seige...shots were flyingin from every where...I was scrambling...Valencia had their tales up and were coming at me from all angles. I did manage to cobble together a few passes in the 65th minute...and got it to RVN just inside the "D". he hammered in an ustoppable blast top right...just before he was wiped out by a sliding tackle and had to go off with an injury. Still Valencia came on...scoring in the 77th minute to set up the grandstand finish. I switched to the 4-1-2-1-2...and managed to choke out the game with a big assist from O'Shea playing the deep midfielder. Shots finished ManU 13-7...Valencia 12-9...really cool stuff
Then moved on to another of my careers...playing as Leicester in my first year...against Stoke. And this turned out to be a defensive and ball control struggle...neither side able to really break the other down. I got a striker behind the defense only once...and the goalie made a great stab to his right...and that was it. Shots finished Liecester 8-5, Stoke 9-7.
Again...just some great stuff. It's really exciting to be involved with FIFA right at the moment. These gameplay updates are just really cool. So far...Biggy's 2.5 is ahead...let's see what you got Clubman!
Cheers all and keep 'em comin'

I've re checked the videos again and again, then compared them to my v2.5 gameplay and your v5 and I found out that I have almost perfect ball physics, I mean by perfect that they imitate real world ball hits, resistance and bounces.
I think that you got too used to your fast settings that it made mine seem slow, but seriously man, I'm 100% sure about what I'm saying, and if you need more explanation I can get you some videos and give you a small comparison between my update and yours, I'm just being real and honest.
Your v5 ball physics are good in some situations but, fast in many other situations, and the ball seems to bounce only 2 or 3 times, where in real soccer the ball bounces 5 or 6 and sometimes 7 times, because it is made from the inside of rubber which gives it the feel of bounce effect, it's different than a plastic ball.
Plus that the ball always seem to fall quickly in your gameplay, in real soccer matches the ball would fly for 2.8 - 3.3 seconds if shot from a goal kick, in my update it takes 2.7, in your update it takes 2.3, which means that my update has it more real than yours, this is only one small comparison. I think that you have to re-set your ball physics and then keep comparing them to real football matches (make sure that the videos you download are not in fast motion).
Did you try playing your patch with a rainy weather? In your update I feel that the rain is just a picture out there, in my update I tried to imitate real ball hits on wet grass, the bounces must be way less, you didn't seem to care a lot about this aspect, in your patch even the ball rolling feels exactly the same wither it's raining or not, this is nothing as real soccer.
The other problem in your v5 ball physics is that the change you have made has changed even the passing speed, wither it's me or the CPU, the passes are always super fast, which again is unrealistic.
The idea of having a game to be only fun is slowly fading away, in our recent time people are looking for realism, for example, first-person games are becoming more realistic by making you die fast and using more strategy in them, compare counter strike to Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter and you'll know what I mean.
Even soccer games have the same thing, they are becoming more strategic than just fun shooting and passing, slower games and more thinking is involved in new coming games, and that's what I like in the members of this forum, that most of them are aiming for realism more than fun, fun is an arcade theme, not PC or PS3 or Xbox 360 theme.
I hope that we can get the best out of Fifa 06 and the next versions of this game.
Peace!
