Massive respect to the Aussies for this momentous achievement! :jap: :jap:

On the other hand, I'm really bummed for my main man King Recoba.........

Serves Uruguay for being the arrogant c*nts that they were.

That Schwarzer 2nd save was one of the best saves I've ever seen in a Penalty Kick

I haven't seen Uruguay play this badly for ages, not even when we lost to Venezuela in the Centenario did we play like this... I'm actually surprised we lasted until the penalties.

What the hell was Fossati thinking, sending Sosa in when we're 1-0 down? Zalayeta in for Recoba when we couldn't even hold the ball for more than 2 seconds before losing it... Did he somehow expect Chengue to jump twenty feet and score? What was the point of leaving him on when it was obvious he was beyond fatigued...

Australia honestly dominated the whole game after the 20th minute, and dictated the rhythm despite not being overly offensive. Hopefully now we'll dump Fossati and get a manager that knows how to attack.

Congrats Aussies, good luck in Germany.

Awww... looks like Uruguay fell out with God... whatever happened to their divine right to be at the World Cup?

That's what we get for having state and church separate. Blasted agnostics, they ruin everything!

How is that ironic?

And where the heck does that Bresciano plays i've never heard of him.

Bresciano plays for Parma. :ewan:

And what happened to Argentina at the last World Cup again?

Great game and penalties, except for the Aussie miss (what was he thinking?).

Uruguay will have another go and more luck in 2009 with the Solomons.. :))

With Bahrain, AFC may have 6 teams in WC then!

Great night eh boys? Great team effort all round, it should've been over before the 90 minutes but credit to Uruguay for hanging in. But I gotta say, feels great to be an Aussie.

Oh and Rob, we're gonna find a good pub and watch all the matches from there next year, kay? :B
