taken from community.sigames.com:

"As revealed a couple of weeks ago, Worldwide Soccer Manager 2006 is available to customers in the America's (North America, Canada, Central America & Southern America) as a digital download through our publisher in the Americas, Sega of America.

You can find lots of other Sega games available there too.

The link to the store is http://www.shopsega.com/DRHM/servlet/ControllerServlet?...cale=en_US&Env=BASE, with the price for WWSM being $29.99

You should find most of your questions answered at https://www.shopsega.com/servlet/SecureControllerServle...cale=en_US&Env=BASE, but if you have any further questions, please ask, and we will do our best to get the answers for you.

The download is ONLY for PC versions of the game. Unfortunately we are yet to find a good enough system for Mac digital downloads."

I haven't purchased a footy manager game in a few years but was thinking of getting the next version of WWSM. I'm confused though. I thought the U.S. version would not be out in stores until next spring. If I purchase the download now, will this have everything that the hard copy to be released has, other than any updates?

It sounds too fishy. Is safer to buy it by shipping.

Ah, that download is supposed to work with all American Countries (when I say America I'm saying the true America, the continent) according to a spanish site.

I'd like to hear what Alex thinks about this, i know he downloaded Half Life 2 i think.

I can buy the game from GoGamer for $50 (US) so $30 would certainly be a bargain-if it comes with everything that the hard copy has.

downloading the game and buying it online should be the same as buying anything else online. As long as your computer is safe and the place you're buying from is also safe there is no problem. Tho i'd rather have it shipped on CD.

steady teddy: You might be getting confused with our console titles which are out in spring next year. WWSM 2006 is the same as FM 2006 and the game is exactly the same via digital download as it would be purchasing a boxed copy.

Like i say, im sure its very safe but if you do want it and you're still worried, take out the insurance on the delivery.

Thanks for the info. I might just end up getting it from GoGamer and kill two birds with one stone by ordering another UK import "GT Legends" from them as well. I'd feel better in getting a hard copy.

i am interested in just downloading it becuase i cannot find a store ANYWHERE in salt lake that has this game. I've even called *gasp* walmart.

Anyway, my one and only worry is what kind of file i get downloaded. is it an .exe file? and will i be able to burn my own back-up copy from my computer?

also what about a manual?

anyone know any stores that ARE selling this and have it in stock?

I don't think WWSM 2006 is out yet. Only the UK version Football Manager.

I didn't buy the game yet cause I'm still busy playing PES 5. I know that GoGamer was selling Football Manager 2006 but I don't even see it listed anymore.

They were the only U.S. retailer that I know of that carried it.

If you want the game now and can't wait till WWSM is released then Amazon UK might be your only bet.

Due to a mix-up with Amazon USA, I have both the digital download version and the box version of Worldwide Soccer Manager (I preordered and canceled the order but it was already shipped or something) so I have to return it. Both are valid options and the game has been released. I paid $30 for the Download and $34(incl shipping) for the box version (soon to be returned).

If you have a good internet connection, you should download it, it didn't take too long if I can remember.

Every Gamestop in my area has said this title has already been delisted. if there isn't a store that has it in stock, you have to order it from Gamestop online.

I'm one of the people who got the digital download version of WSM06. No problems whatsoever for anyone wondering and considering getting it. Well, there were some bugs in the game but that's normal (crashing being the main one for me, although patch 6.02 seems to have fixed it). I've bought the Out Of The Park baseball game the same way since 2001 or so, so buying a "digital" version of a game wasn't a big deal for me.

It's my first time playing the game and I'm absolutely having a blast. Started off managing Mansfield in English League Two, got sacked, moved on to Port Vale, got sacked, and am now having a good season with Stockport. :)

The only thing that might bother some people is the patch for the digital download version wasn't available until about 2 weeks after the FM/non-digital WSM patch came out.
