PES 5 Rocks - People who nag are being too hasty

After actually playing the game I've decided to give my advice to those who are still contemplating buying it.

Don't even think about it, go out and get it, the game is great!

The reason people are negative about it is that the gameplay is rather different than in older versions and they don't have the patience to learn the new PES and just expect everything to be the same as in PES 4

The ball physics are better than PES 4, the headers system works a lot better, you can score out of the box and the animation is even greater.

There are also more choices in editing mode and Master League.

-The refferees aren't worse! you just have to be much more careful pressing X to defend!
-The computer isn't cheating of course! (HAVE MERCY!) the passing system just works a bit differently especially the through balls that's why CPU picks it easier.

If you have difficult times playing the game at first don't go straight to playing it at 5 stars...you'll need a little time getting used to the change.

While when going from PES 3 to PES 4 I could play at the same level like nothing has changed in PES 5 I had to start from 2 stars to get used to the new stuff, and I'm still struggling in 3 stars

have patience and practice this game it'll be worth it, after a while it just feels like real football!

1) Ball Physics.
A) Rebounds, loose balls, almost all go directly to the players feet without the players moving. Most of the time they will go to a cpu players feet. The physics act like the players feet have magnets towards the ball.
B) Shooting - Almost every time you shoot for the corners of the goal the ball will go past the post. Surely if this was proper physics then sometimes the ball would go past the post or go inside the post.
C) Even when you just tap the shoot button, the power bar goes to its maximum. If i am playing football and i go and just tap the ball, my foot would not all of a sudden kick it as hard as possible. This is a cheat as it means you have no control on the power of the shot.

2) Heading,
A) No control on when you jump.
B) No control on how hard you head the ball.
C) No control on direction. The cpu selects what player you are going to pass to. For example when clearing the ball the ball will ost often go directly to a cpu players feet especially the corner taker.

3) Fouls.
You don't need to press the x button to give a foul away e.g.
A) If you get a ball and then bump into a cpu player youy will give away a foul.
B) If you go for a 50/50 challenge you will most often give away a foul.
C) If you bump into the cpu player without even pressing x you will give away a foul.
D) Players not under your control can give away fouls.
E) Players under your control would slide tackle or trip up the cpu player even though you have not pressed the tackle button.
F) You can give away fouls even though you have the ball.
G) There is huge difference between the fouls the cpu gets and what you get.
H) Fouls are given with no explanation.

4) Cheating:
A) You player runs at the same speed as the slower cpu players even when they don't have the ball. The reverse is not true. A cpu player who is faster than you will always be faster than you.
B) Fouls - The cpu can barge, push or do a last man tackle and will almost everytime not get booked or give away a foul. While you can just bump into a striker who is braking away on goal and get sent off, even though the cpu player has not fallen to the ground or lost the ball.

5) Through Balls
A) The cpu can do any type of through ball to any player will you can only do it to the closest or the furthest away.
B) No control on power of through balls. Almost all through balls going towards the goal will go directly to the goalie.

6) Boring
The game is know boring. Al that happens is you run, foul, pass, foul jump in the air give foul it's just fouls.

PES is the best game , but the only competition is Fifa. When you compare PES to Fifa, Sensible Soccer, Kick Off, Actua Soccer, Michael Owens World League Soccer, Goal and other football games PES is good in some parts but dire in others especially master league,

Me:
I have gone unbeaten on 6 stars for 4 season with aresnal 15 minutes. My highest win is 13 - 1 against rangers. I score on average 4 or more goals against the cpu. Konami has just added some cosmetic changes wihtout even fixing a lot fot the problems from PES4 or vene PES3.

1A) Never noticed that
1B) It's only natural that more shots are going to get lost than scored, otherwise football would have basketball scores
1C) First of all it doesn't go to the maximum when you tap it! Also, why are you comparing pressing a button with kicking a ball these are totally different things!

2A) The timing is much better than in PES 4 try to time your jumps instead of tapping the button when the ball is on the air.
2B) It all depends on the players position just like in real football, if you take a couple of steps back you'll hit the ball harder

5B) That's what manual passes are for.

The reason why Konami have any bugs at all in the WE/PES series is for this very reason, people every year saying:

"this game is perfect"

No, it's not freaking perfect. How can every year be "perfect". The game is bugged like any other. Yes, it's a great game but it is bugged to heck.

The worse thing about the game is the community because every time anybody points out a valid flaw in the game, they get shot down with "you're talking crap - this game rules" or "you're just crap at the game".

If you think PES5 is perfect then obviously there's no need to even look to the future versions because you can't improve on perfection right?

The fact that you can give away PK's without actually controlling the player who conceeded the PK or when you look at replays see that the CPU is fouling for you and you have no control over it might be fine for some people but one thing I loved when I switched from FIFA 2002 to PES2 was the lack of scripted play. PES5 has gone more scripted. The ball gets cleared for me if I don't press buttons on occasions. The headers and passes will often go a completely different direction to where I aimed them (and I've played the game on various people's PC's/PS2s so it's not my controller/system). Loose, what should be 50:50 balls are nothing like 50:50 as they magically roll to the feet of CPU players sometimes at impossible angles from where the ball was travelling.

But no, the game's perfect and anybody who disagrees is just crap at the game.

Konami don't need to buy licenses, put a crowd in the game, revamp the ML or do anything because everything is perfect.

If it's so freaking perfect why does everybody wait for patches? Why does this years version have more threads than ever before complaining about aspects of the game which were better in previous versions?

It's a new game and a new learning system sure, but flaws are flaws and if you ignore them, they'll never get fixed. I've heard it every year: "PES2 is perfect", "PES3 is perfect", "PES4 is perfect", "PES5 is perfect".

How can they all be perfect???

I think PES5 is great.

There is, however, one huge problem with it...
the game is too easy. the AI doesn't score. They hardly ever even create chances.
How is one supposed to get any satisfaction out of a game when there is zero challenge?
You will get bored quickly playing against the cpu.

Exactly. In ML on 6 stars I had 18 clean sheets in one season!!!

Everyone has a different opinion on this game. Then again everyone plays with different formations and settings as well. For me the game is excellent. It has a few things I don't like, but they don't hamper my overall experiece. People need to stop assuming that their personal opinions are facts. What happens to you may not happen to someone else.

Nothing is ever perfect. What would be the point of bringing out any other game if the previous was perfect?

I don't play the game against the cpu, it gets very boring and frustrating within half an hour. Online where you don't have to put up with the CPU AI, I can play it all day and never want to leave.

My opinion is the opposite. I actually enjoy playing ML and have no desire to play online. Although I keep telling myself to try it out.

For the record, and I do hope wolf's remarks were not directed at me, I'd like to state that I never said the game is perfect.

I merely said that I find it improved and I like it more than PES 4, and people shouldn't jump to conclusions before they've actualy made an effort to learn the game.

Sure there are things that bug me in PES 5, but in my opinion and you don't have to share it, it rocks.

that's all

and all different opinions are welcome of course.

I myself played on all the stars just to test them out, and the one i felt was most challenging level was on 4 stars, and it wasnt because the AI got thier thier speed boosted or recieved all the loose balls or got no fouls called on them ....etc... it was none of that. It was because it was balanced out nicely, always felt like a 50/50 balanced game, the challenge against the cpu was great, its wasnt easy at all to score. You really had to fight for it, the cpu also made great plays and had chances to score too.

Everytime i play on 4 stars i get an exciting game with lots of chances to score, as well as for the AI too, so anything can happen, and anyone can win this time not just the team with high stats. Its all about playing smart

Um, nobody said it was perfect in this thread......................calm down.

For the record, there is no such thing as perfection in the world we live in. Anybody who claims it is perfect, doesnt know the definition of perfection.
