Fifa 06 Manager Mode Thread

Well considering that no-one started an official career thread like last year i thought id open one myself.

Anyways for my first season i have chosen Real Madrid B team and im currently 1st on the ladder after 17 matches and just beat the real Barcelona team in a ECL or ECC match cant really remember. Anyways what team have you chosen for your first season

Started my career with Cardiff. Got 2 draws and the rest wins. Comin 1st currently.

I also started with cardiff city. Got 2 draws, 1 was a draw when I played the match myself. One of them was due to me deciding to use the quick result thingy(never tried it before so decided to do so) The rest are wins. McClen's a decent youngster I scouted from Africa. Lee doing well for me infront of goal. Playing a 4-3-3 formation.

lee has scored only 4 goals for me right now..most of my goals come from set-pieces

Hey is it just me or do player ratings change very often compared to fifa 2005. Im with Real Madrid B team and my striker solado has changes from like 72 i think it was to now 78 in the one season. almost every couple of matches he changes if i dont score with him his rating will drop and if i score it just pops back up again. But this only mainly happenes to him all my other players are just slowly getting up. another query could it be because his captain his attributes change so easily like he might get double the points like in fantasy premierleague lolll or something not sure but has this happened to anyone else??

yes the rating depends on his morale and his form. Each player has a potential which can be increased by getting good coaches.

Just changed to Roma now in my second season and what a dragggg. I chose the best sponser there which was like maxima or something and its still not enough i played my first match thinking that i would get around +$2000 seeing that i was with i high rating club. But then to my shock i got -$256 and thats not all that was a home match so on away games i get -$1600ish anway i quickly went to sell players but with my bad luck i had just missed the transfer window a few games after and now im really screwed all my money has ran out and my job security is going to start to fall iv got 10 games left untill the next transfer window and my job security is like 80ish. Does anyone have any advice or and i doomed to get fired. and also one more thing can anyone tell me what job security number did they get fired in is it once it reaches 0 or what thnx

best advice is get rid of players that you are not using it clears up the cash flow, unless you have a starting eleven worth alot then thats trouble, right now i am at my 7th season, first with inter and the problem is that there is a bad match of young and old players, so im selling off some of the older ones and some younger players and bringing in two into the system, it makes money alot easier cause you wont be paying the olders players money for games that they most likely wont be playing

Well i choose Barcelona (i did the 4 stars trick) i sold Larsson, Ezquerro and i stat to negociate players salary, some players even agreed to get only 250p and Jorquera even only 100p. i won the league and the Cup. in my second season i bought Chivu and i sold Sylvinho. then in january i bought Jin su Park and Vicent Kompany. i started to negociate Edmilson salary but he didnt want to low his wages so i sold him in my 3rd season and bought Edu from Valencia a. Well i have a pretty good team

Hahaha as i expected i didnt make it to the transfer window b4 my job secutiry ran out so i got fired from roma. But everything is looking good i unlocked the career teams thingy so now im with real madrid haha also loosing money but iv got nearly 30 grand and the transfer window is in 20 games so ill make it for sure this time ill definately sell owen and some other major players because its so easy to raise player ratings in this game its so cool anyways got uni exams now so ill be back in just over a week wish me luck

just a stupid question: how do you transfer players?

um yeah go to the screen that says transfer central and if u want to buy a player go to transfer market and if you want to sell one of your players go to the screen that says club list and place the players you dont want on sale

Does PS2 version count? Because I have the PS2 version.

In that case..

Last night I won my first League, the French League with Bordeaux. Unfortunately didn't win any other cups, like League cup and so on. But league was good enough to make plenty of money.

The first season, my best players were Perea, Denilson, Francia and Smicer.

I just started my 2006-2007 season by beating Lyon 2-1 for the Cup Winner's cup (winner of league vs winner of cup). That alone gave me 14000 points.

With the beginning of the season I got rid of Leroy, Darscheville and some other cat. Also, my other keeper Reux retired. To replace them I got the Peruvian forward Farfan from PSV. Then I got some 18 year old phenom RB named Berros to soon replace Jammelli who will be retiring after this season. Then I got another young midfielder to soon replace Smicer who will be retiring this year. Also i'm working on getting a second keeper. Gomes of PSV and Diego of Atl. Paranense so far have said no to my bids... but i left my last game with a final bid, hopefully one of the two will agree before the transfer period ends.

Thats it so far. Lets hope for another league win and maybe make it far in the Champions League.
