Islam is based upon 2 pillars, the Qur'an and the Sunna. Leave one out, and your talking about a whole other religion.

well, I wouldn't have put it in those words, but there's a valid point in there somewhere. The sooner people stop trying to force the world into some make-beleive multi-ethnic utopia (like some Old Navy commercial), the better. It's true that Muslims just have a different beleifs/mentality/value system that obviously conflicts with western culture, I don't mean it as an insult to either, people are just cut from different cloths IMO. I don't think the west will ever truely understand Islam and vice-versa. Turkey in the EU would just open the door for more issues down the road.
