don't worry... the raptors will be a pretty decent team within 2-3 years... when all those bad contracts go off the books... we're kind of like the Miami Heat before Riley joined them and things went great from then on.
It was those bad contracts that were holding us back and also T-Mac bolting after he told us to wait (Boozer-esque)... Olajuwon (never played for us but has a pretty decent contract that forced houston not to match), Alvin Williams (if only he was healthy, he'd worth every penny), Yogi Stewart (signed 24mil 6 years 'nuff said, although he's gone we still have some after affects)
Magloire has been itching to come back to Toronto.
We drafted some nice character guys, if we had wanted talent we'd taken Green but he will for sure take the T-Mac route and bolt.

well.. the offer to Duhon accomplishes four things...
It gives Toronto an outside shot at landing a solid young PG to add to the rotation.
It puts us in favour with Bill Duffy.
It scares Matt Bonner into hopefully getting a deal done. (I Think he's a goner, there's just not enough PT for him at the PF.. I hate to see him go tho)
It lets Raptor fans know that Babcock isn't just sitting on his ass, he's out there making moves and kissing babies.
Bulls are inviting Malik Allen in tomorrow. Now that they know how much Duhon will cost, they can interview Allen.
Teams always make other teams wait the max time allowed when they want to match. The fact that Toronto offered 3 years to Duhon also smacks of agent/owner favors. Bulls will definitely match 3 years since that was their original offer. Duffy is not positive Bulls would match 5 so he told Babcock to keep it at 3.

I'm not sure that the Bulls still have rights to Jay Williams. Even if they do and they try to trade him away they will not get what he was worth in return.
I believe Jay Williams is a free agent.. and he would give the bulls the first option if they want him back and then he will look at other team's offers... he's a bill duffy client...

well... nets were worried about his long term health... his knee hasn't bothered SAR since he had joined the league... rumors was they wanted to change their 6 year contract to a 4 year guaranteed and 2 more a team option
it is rumored that the bulls are also one of the teams interested in SAR... if they somehow get SAR then that leaves Duhon to Toronto... or if Chicago decides to match then that leaves Jay Williams as a possible 2nd/3rd pg for the Raptors
but yeah SAR looks like will go to the kings..

well... there were doctors that said SAR's knees are showing early signs of arthritis development.. and a 6 year contract is really risky given their other big contract players have a history of injuries (VC and Kidd)... it was just a business decision..
u either take the risk or u take the safe approach... Thorn opted for the latter
although SAR's contract -if it had gone thru- is pretty cheap.. it's the length the length that the Nets wanted to shortened
they got marc Carlos*son who has 2 more years of contract instead.. who is also injury prone

the hawks should be booted out of the leauge. 2 first round draft picks plus a player for johnsons and pay him 70 million??? are they out of their mind??? and they threw 16 million at zaza pachulia. this franchise is trying to upend the clippers. they have so much talent, but are locking themselve in mediocrity by spending so much on players that will not elevate them to a contender.
after watching game 2 of the ACB finals between Tau and RealMadrid(eventual winners) I see that the Hornets are getting a really solid player in Majicaukus(sp?) .. this guy can shoot.. and drew like 5 fouls in the first 6 minutes.... I can already see Chris Paul dishing to an open Maji for some wide open 3's next season... sweet!!
