classic matches

I think FIFA should have some classic matches on it. Many other games, such as World Championship Rugby and Brian Lara Cricket have them, why not FIFA? Classic matches I think there should be:

1) Bayern Munich v Manchester United (1999 CL final)
You should start this game at around 80 minutes as Man U with the score at 1-0 to Bayern. Your task should be to turn the game around in the remaining 10 minutes and win Man U the CL.

2) AC Milan v Liverpool (2005 CL final)
You should start at the beginning of the second half as Liverpool, 3-0 down. You should have to come back to win.

Post any more classic matches you should think there should be in FIFA 06.

Great idea, but I really really doubt that this would happen. This would mean that they'd have to do extra research, plus change the rosters for those games, and even exact which players were in the game at that time (who was subbed on...injured....). It's interesting to hear about, but I can't see it happening any time soon. EA are too lazy.

They actually have this function in FIFA 2005 for GBA. It's really, really poorly implemented though because it uses the current rosters. So to use your Man U example (which is in there), you can score the equalizer and the winner with Cristiano Ronaldo and Saha, which kills the point. I don't think it's worth including unless they get authentic period rosters.

That is a great idea, its almost like mini game and situation mode mixed into one, this way you relive the great soccer moments and see if you could change the fate of teams by winning or losing, pretty much changing history lol. Great idea

it would be EA's opinion on what a classic match is too... which means we'd be playing the likes of Shefield United vs Gillingham, 0-0 in the 85th minute, in a midseason match

I would realy like to see classic teams in such great matches, but if this is hard to accomplish i can give you an alternative idea for mini games / missions through the game:

After a selection of let's say the best 20 goals from past couple (or more if possible) years, you may enter any of the 20 "missions". After watching and hearing how the goal was accomplished in detail (your mission) you are asked to produce it as it really happened, i.e. steal the ball, pass to ..., drible through ... blah blah. Ball goes in as it really happened, mission accomplished, get some points / unlockables etc etc.

You think this would be any good?

That's a pretty interesting idea alou. I remember in Giant Gram 2000, a Japanese professional wrestling game, they had a mode like this, where you recreated actual legendary matches by executing moves at the same time in the match that they really happened. It was a lot of fun. The problem again though is that to make this mode work you need to get the real teams from the past. I would love to have the task of perfectly recreating Maradona's 1986 coast-to-coast goal against England, or Giggs' 1999 FA Cup goal against Arsenal, but it's just weird if Giggs burns Flamini and Fabregas and puts it over Almunia or Lehmann.

Werder vs Lyon (Lyon leads 3:0 agg)

didn't EA once have that or was that in a older Champions League Game ?

Anyway that would be an excellent addition - Classic Matches (with the original rosters) aswell as "Continetnt" Teams - South America vs Europe
