Youths

Hey all,

How are the youths on this game now? What about coaches, training camps and any other proposed features? Has anything changed yet?

I might come back to set up a youth team, just train loads of young English players. I'd have good coaches too obviously, but this plan won't work if the starting youths are still crap and slow trainers and no chance of being any good in the future.

It'd be interesting to see if getting players at 15-18 and selling around 21-23 would be effective. Players in the early twenties sell for more than older players so it could be a nice little earner to build up the stadium (and eventually I'd get the kind of cash I would've had if I'd sold all of my team off).

It'd save money on transfer fees and wages (related to transfer fees) and give a fairly competitive team with lots of squad depth as all players would be of about the same quality.

Obviously the team wouldn't ever be world beaters but I don't have the time to play that competitively (plsu I'm not paying to enter cups just to improve my rank). It'd just be for fun and enjoyable seeing if I can take points off of teams with highly overpaid foreign stars.

So anyway, if things have improved I might come back. Would help the England U18s a lot if those tournaments still go on, and maybe the senior team as well if they can be trained high enough. Heh, I'd have no foreigners at all; how's that for patriotism?

bad news is, i scrapped my youth, bunch of good for nothings they were. so i have zilch youth. having said that i dont plan to stay in the game for much longer

I only got 3 new youths this season - mine were awful. However, the other 13 I have are turning out to be stars. Crew say that youths come with more balls than ever, and after seeing some people post their new youths on the forum, you can see where they're coming from, although you'd be lucky to get some really good ones.

Training is a lot quicker, and most of them have upwards arrow on the report even without a coach. I'd say my youths probably gain about 4-6 balls a season, depending on how fast they train, i.e. whether they have a coach or not.

I really hope you do return to the game and make your way back to the top!

MZ is going to come out with a totally new training/league system in two seasons.

right now, the youths are good, I think. one, they're all either 15 or 16. two, they can be 10 (? might be more) balls in total minimum. with good coaches, you can make em godly.

i scrapped my old MZ team, which was division 3 and played in div 2 in USA for a while. my coaches were awesome and i had 10-youth program, even had 16 at some point. I had about 4 players that graduated who were valued at $350K at 18 years of age and about 4 others at about $200K. They were good substitutes for my starting XI and probably very good for weaker div 4 teams.

I moved to Russia now, so I have a russian team. I'm just starting out, I have 4 youths, two are 15, two are 16. I have 3 decent coaches (with 5s and 4s). I already gained 3 balls in a week from my youths. One kid is promising to be a good striker - 3 balls in ball control, training his 3rd in shooting, and 2 in speed and stamina each - at 15 years of age. He's also abmidextrous, even though that doesn't matter right now - it might in the new sim in a few months.

Anyway, I think the youths are great, maybe wait a few months till the new system is implemented and then join. it'll be fun.
