Shaun Goater has urged Reading to pay Manchester City the final installment of his transfer fee so he can ger his career back on track.

The 35-year-old joined The Royals in 2003 for a fee of £500,000 with certain installments based on appearances.

The final £50,000 was due when the former Bristol City marksman reached 50 appearances, but he has been stuck on 49 since last December with The Royals apparently unwilling to trigger the clause.

Goater has now pleaded with the club to dig deep and let him continue his career.

"The £50,000 is between the clubs," he stated.

"I'm convinced I can still do a job."

That's a f*cking disgrace, keeping "the Goat" in limbo like that over 50k, especially as he's reaching the end of his playing career and wants to make the most of the time he's got left.

Jesus that is just sad. Goater is one hell of a striker and they do this to him, I'm sure if he had played the extra games for Reading, they would have most likely been promoted this year.

Typical Madejski, could take his club a long way, but is too busy trying to get into Cilla Black's panties to invest.

F*ck off and die, you plastic club.

Jesus. I didnt think reading were this skint. I know they are like a retiree club nowadays, but is this their doing out of spite, or can they really just not spare the cash? In any event, its an unprofessional joke
