I was haveing a talk with my bro about Cruyff, and he say that he doesn't compaer to maradona or Pele. I think he is as good as them, but isn't that much know because he didn't won anything with Holland.

so my question is if he had won a World Cup with Holland would he be consider equal to Maradona or Pele?

First of all it's Cruijff not Cruyff.

Second, yes and I do think Cruijff is known in the world quite good...
Lucky Germans took the biggest trophy away from him. But do remember he almost won everything that one can win with a club both as trainer and player.

In my books he's equal to Maradona and Pele. Cruijff won ALOT with Ajax and Barca, and also as a coach. True legend.

Same here. I rate him among the biggest legends, he's equal to Pele, Maradona and Beckenbauer. He changed the game of football.

Don't be so anal. That's the correct Dutch spelling, but the more common English way is Cruyff, like Van Nistelrooy and Van Nistelrooij. It's not that big of a deal which way he spells it.

I saw Jordi play only a cople of times in Espanyol and wasn't that impress. but I feel bad for the dude must be hard to have Cruyff as your last name, and every body thinking you will be as great your father.

I think Cruyff is one of the world greatest footballer. I think the fact that hes got his own move which is named after him says enough, also how effective it is and long it has lasted in the game.

As for Jordi Cruyff, the guy probably had it on easy street, if you think that someone is going to be as good as their father, you are a fool. I think Jordi can owe the fact that he actually got a pro contract in the first place to his dad.

Allright shall I spell Beckenbauer Bekenbour and Maradona Meradone then?

BTW the dutch spelling of van Nistelrooy is van Nistelrooy nuthin' special.

He's Dutch so you should spell it the Dutch way.

Di Stefano didn't won **** with Spain, but he's one of the greatest players of all-time ;)

Didnt win **** with Argentina aswell. Pelé and Maradona are inhuman. For humans, i guess Cruijff and Di Stefano would be the best ones.

I'd say that Cruijff ranks with the best of the best -- Pele, DiStefanio, etc. I'd rank him higher than Maradona considering what the two have contributed to soccer after their professional careers were over.

World Cup or not, still a living legend.
