We do have some asshole cops in this country (and LA has had its fair share of problems with them), but compared to a lot of other countries our police are just fine. I wouldn't go as far as saying the police in LA (or anywhere else in this country) are "****************ed up." There are some bad cops, but I would say there are more good ones.

And yeah, LA is the ****.

Yah, not to flog a dead horse here, but the sad nature of american police corruption is a double standard, with suburban cops being crooked about small things (the ones that i bitch about) like having nothing better to do than sit at speed traps and bust kids who go out buying papers, while, in urban america, there is real corruption, not the point where the police are cronies for anyone, but where they, essentially, bend the rules and "protect their own". I just think its kinda weak that i bitch about cops for their arrogance, ass ugly haircuts, or pigheadedness in the suburbs while, in the inner cities, black kids are getting put away for half of their adult lives for things that suburbanites (not out of skin color, necesscarily, but out of class status) get away with all the time. Still, it could be alot worse. Not trying to insult anyones country, but thank god the police arent the personal army of drug lords, or something awful like that
Anyway, maybe LA just gets a bad wrap for its cops, when any city has its police issues. As for the city itself, cant say im a fan, but then again, i was never fond of southern california in the first place

The only purpose of traffic cops is to screw people over. However, I would say Police Departments deserve more blame than the actual traffic cops. They have quotas that they give to cops that force them to give out a certain amount of tickets a month. It's pretty much a backdoor tax, the city/state/police department/etc. doesn't have enough money and instead of getting money through taxes they just get it by pulling you over.
