Strange!!!

I really don't understand why Konami didn't release another patch for PES4 PC to deal with the online lag problem. Today with WE8:I online I played 2 games against a friend in the UK, 1 against a guy in Italy and 1 against a guy in Australia. I was the client in each game and suffered virtually no lag at all. If they could almost completely eliminate the lag in WE8:I why couldn't they have made a patch for PES4???

Also, the smoothness of WE8:I compared to PES4 is so much better it's stupid on lower end PC's. My friend has a Celeron 1ghz laptop with an onboard Intel graphics chip. PES4 wouldn't even start unless we put it in windowed mode at the lowest res and detail. He can play full window 800x600 on the lowest detail running pretty smoothly with WE8:I.

Although I know it's easy for everybody to upgrade to WE8:I, I can't help thinking people in Europe are getting screwed over with PES4 on the PC. After many more game with WE8:I it's getting more and more obvious that the gameplay has been tweaked to get rid or reduce severely a lot of the annoying crap that was in PES4 such as long shots that were too easy to score, players always falling over with the slightest contact, etc.

If WE8:I is nothing more than a little tweak to PES4 then why can't Konami release a patch to bring PES4 up to the same quality? I uninstalled PES4 as soon as I'd played a few full games on WE8:I and sent the game to one of my friends. No way could I go back to playing PES4 again, especially not online.

I'm a big Konami fanboy but the difference this year between the WE release and the PES release is too much not to mention it.

Because then european PS2 and XBox players would be the ones who would feel robbed. I'm afraid it's simple as that.

I think the PS2 players without online already do!

I have played WE8:I, and i feel that the game is smoother. The keeper AI is improved. But i havent tried an online match yet. If the lag is removed, then the game will be prefect.

However, the roster of the game is the same as PES4...i thought that it is updated..but no, Forlan is still in Man Utd and Rooney is in Everton.

I`ve played we8 pc and it`s great is there anywhere we can play it online?

true, we8i is much better than pes4 in online mode

gr8 news about online though eh. No lag at all, i have noticed the same smoothness with online play. all we need now is we8online.exe thingy.

very good news. am getting we8 for pc asap. but the thing is that there are not many ppl who have the american version. when will they create something like "WE8ONLINE" or "WE8LAUCHER" the equivalent of pes4online. can the online mode be tweaked so that one can play with someone that as a pes4?

Yep, this is great news. The launcher is an awesome utility and why Konami couldn't have made something similar is beyond me! Just like Yannick's EditPES4OptionFile program. Would the game have not been much better without versions of these two utilities put into the game. That way we could have downloaded updates for rosters a lot easier using a common format and been able to grow the online community without having to rely on a third party to simplify everything for us.

Guys, you need to send your online launcher to Konami and say "hey, give us a few million dollars for this"!!!!!

the only real difference i notice is that it's a lot harder to score in WE:8.

I still have brain dead keepers sometimes in my WE:8 though

Also, the AI's marking is much better. Sometimes i simply have no passing options. In PES4 there was always someone open

Yep. Buy the game. WE8:I is worth more in terms of minutes spent compared to the money it costs to buy it then probably anything you own so do the decent thing and buy the game!!!! It's not like you can't get it dirt cheap online!

I thought the same with WE7:I last year, basically everything was compatible and it could be released as a patch. Things like lag and performance should defintly be sorted out if they have a fix for it, I can understand actual gameplay stuff a bit more though.

And about the option file editor being with the game, with FM, the person that made the best unofficial editor for CM03/04 and CM4 is now working for SI and helped them make the official editor for FM, completely different to how Konami are. Still they haven't got much experiance with PC games I don't think hopefully things improve in future. Its crazy that you can't use the keyboard to edit players in game.

ok, I'll put my CD in when I play. It's okay but it'd be nice if it was NO-CD compatible. PLus, his competition skn3 would get owned.
