I'm playing FIfa online alot these days. My rating just went up to 1677. 39 wins, 13 losses, 7 draws. 32 clean sheets

Why is it some of the games i play are really fast paced, and some are really slow paced? Who sets the settings?

I'm playing "ranked" games so every game should be the default settings.

But why is it some games are of a disgustingly slow gamespeed.

I can't play in such a slow environment. suffered my most humiliating defeat today. Lost to some guy with rating 1209 because the game was so darn slow and my strikers could not click at all.

I play as Flinchy81 btw:crazyboy:

what you are experiencing is Latency in all its unpredictable glory. The "Ping" report on EASO isn't very accurate, but obviously a lower "Ping" numbered opponent is usually a good indicator, but realize that # is how the opponent is connected to the EASO server, and not YOU.

How an opponent is connected to YOU will determine how the game actually will play.

Packet loss (usually with high congested cable modem connections) combined with physical distance (especially cross-continent opponents) will yield "choppy" games in which the game appears slower due to packets being lost combined with the extra latency (time) required for communication between opponents.

The usual scenario though are 2 opponents in different countries (say USA vs EUROPE). Both players may ping well to their respective EASO server, but when connected to each other, the latency alone will keep the game SMOOTH in feel and sight, but there will be a small millisecond delay (1 up to 5) for all inputted moves.

Issues and variances in unforseen variables is the reason why some games feel/appear more smooth/faster than others. The closer you are to your opponent in addition to quality of internet connection on both ends will determine if the game feels perfect like playing on a local area network, to the unplayable 5 frames per second chop you may encounter here and there playing with a 2000 ping (2 seconds) overseas opponent with low/slow PC specs.

Best of luck!

Thanks for explaining. I normally have a ping of below 100. Sometimes when i play some other guy who has a ping below 100 too, the game is still of a very slow pace.

I just lost a 140 rating points. From 1692 to 1566!!! Because my controller's left analog stick wasnt working properly. Aargh

My hard earn points!!! I kept losing to friggin 1509+ ranked players. Almost destroyed my controller!!
