It will be online for the PC, even if Konami dont make it online compatable... there are ways and means around it. People have made SNES games playable over the internet.

No server = no problem, just set up a chat channel somwhere were people can sort out games on the go. Ok, so it will be difficult to sort out full leagues etc, but on the positive side you can patch as much as you want.

So dont worry, the dream of having online play with proper kits, stadiums and not having to put up with commentators blabbering on about "Europort", "Merseyside Red" etc are still alive.

Hehehe, bold statements there my friend.

It they were true PES3 would be online by now...

I know what you're getting at. You think KONAMI's gonna leave the Online code from PES4 (XBox) in the PC version for someone to discover... Like someone did with GTA.

Like they say...

Hope is the mother of all stupid.

And she loves all her children very much so you know it can still happen. :D ;)

this sucks for two major reasons:

1st: there's still no live service in Portugal...PS2 has been providing their online gaming here for more than a year, are Micro$oft folks sleeping?

2nd: if i wanted to play online, i had to pay an anual subscription, which after paying for the console, the game, the online kit and my ISP, is just to much!! no thank you, just stick your online play up your ass! PS2's online service may not be that great, but at least it's FREE!

i'll get the game for PS2, i usualy have more fun playing it alone...

Ye of little faith! You are so wrong it's scary, and your attitude is unbelievably defeatist and negative. I'm sure you want to see PES4 PC online, so why be so negative about it?! I personally am certain some kind of mod will enable this feature. If it doesn't, i'm hardly going to kill myself, but the how on earth can you be so certain this will NEVER happen? There is hardly no precident for it.

I'm just glad the rest of humanity (well, most of us) doesn't think that way - we'd still be walking around naked and killing our food with wooden clubs otherwise, and there certainly would be no such thing as PES.

^ (Kibble) ^ I know, the lads on that site have been working on making PES3 online for barely 6 weeks (when u take into account holidays etc). Also consider that theyve just been working part time, AND there is only 2-3 main guys on the project.

Its quite an achievement to have got so far as to have sucessfully test-played the game online vs each other. At the moment it uses web cams but there working on video conferencing software and live streaming which should make it better.

If more people knew about it and were able to help test it im sure it would be complete by now.

Because. Because I've looked thru their site and I can tell you they're taking a really unconventional, very unconvininet approach. You could say they're takin a detour around the whole country just to get to their neighboors house. What they're making isn't a mod. Man, there's so many things wrong with their project, I don't really want to write about it.

Let me spell this out slowly.

If they want to build an online mode they need to edit within the game itself, not thru a "3rd party" software, etc. They have to take into consideration the network issues, there's stability issues which by the way is none in there...... Like I said. They're taking the longest, most unreliable way out their is. They need tools from KONAMI to do this the right way.

Man, nothing against them. Not my business what they're doing. Not to mention PES4 is right around they corner, they'll be rewriting most of their stuff over...

Answer this, why go there? Why when I can just grab an XBox and play they way it's meant to be played?

Proper kits - Almost all Konami default kits are ugly + incorrect eg default WE8 Celtic kit (or for that matter most international kits) = ugly... No hoops or stripes in WE8, wtf was that about.

Proper team names. Ability to put your own team in the game properly (eg with kits).

Not having to pay practically £200 to play online. Especially given not only the game but also the console will be out of date in a year.

Its all a matter of opinion, people pay their money and take their choice. If this had happened last year I might have picked the Xbox. But given the next gen consoles will be out shortly and with £200 in my pocket and this I'd probably pick a weekend in Amsterdam instead.

i have a xbox but wont buy the xbox version
i played it at games stars live n it felt like i was playing pro evo 2 with better annimation, very slow n sluggish but it was only 75% complete

Perhaps this is a stupid question, but suppose I'm playing an online game and my option file is different to my opponent in terms of kits and player transfers. Will the database and kits depend on the host or will they have to be the same for an online game to work?
