Tranmere Rovers sign Zola

Zola makes Rovers move

Tranmere Rovers have snapped up highly-rated Newcastle United striker Calvin Zola.
The 19-year-old has penned a two-year deal at Prenton Park.

Zola attracted the interest of Rovers boss Brian Little when he played against them while on loan from Oldham Athletic.

"Calvin is a young lad who impressed me when he played against us for Oldham," Little told the club's official website.

"He is a big strong centre-forward who has been well coached at Newcastle.

"He has loads of potential and will be able to fulfil this at Tranmere."

I wish the big guy well. Another one of our young players who have never panned out for us. I suspect he will do well in Division 2 or League 1 or whatever they are calling it now a days. I still can't believe he is only 19.

Well, in the time I've played CM I've come across Calvin Zola(Newcastle), so seeing the thread started by a Newcastle United supporter gave it away for me.

I could of used his full name of Calvin Zola Makongo but who can be bothered to spell Makongo.

makongo....i bought him in cm, he turned out to be pretty good too....before my game crashed


but for the rest of u, it couldnt be gianfranco zola because he just went to cagliari last season and brought them back to the serie A, it's a pretty cool story when you think about it, went back to his home town, resurrected the team
