The message on the side of the Greek coach that pulled into the Estádio da Luz said "Ancient Greece had 12 Gods. Modern Greece has 11 Gods." To the Greeks, your 11 have just become Gods. I congratulate you on winning the European Championship. Now, only if I had put money on you guys.....

I really can't bring myself to feel happy for Greece at the moment.

They have been the poorer team in every match they have played but their negative football and a big slice of luck has seen them win.

They have won the tournament but they kill football. It's a big step backwards for the "beautiful game".

The most exciting moment was when the fan ran on the pitch...it says it all.

It's embarassing for European football. Imagine if Brazil came to play the "best" team in Europe and faced up to this negative garbage.

wow.... .... Greece won every game against teams that are stronger at attacking than them on paper......they drew with spain tho... they only lost to russia...


they spanked portugal at the groups stage...then france..then czech...and once again portugal....


another fun fact: it was a germany (coach) vs brazillian (coach) like world cup 02.. but this time the german won

Who would of thought it?. I am in total shock. They fully deserved this championship. I don't think I've seen a defensive display throughout a tournament such as that. Atleast football now shows it's very unpredictable and anything can happen.

Portugal can have no complaints, they lost twice to Greece, without scoring a goal against them, and Greece beat the holders, not to mention the host nation to win the tournament. So it wasn't a fluke, just sheer class.

I feel very sorry for Ronaldo and the rest of the Portuguese team, they was under so much pressure before the game, which is perhaps the reason why they didn't perform up to there best. I also feel sorry for all the Portuguese fans, it must feel like a knife in the heart and it will hurt for years to come.

Anyway congratulations Greece, well deserved:rockman: :rockman: :rockman:

i feel like **** now. ive been dissapointed in every single football result (in the end anyways) this year. this is just so depressing. i felt like im gonna break something when the whistle was blown. Figo deserved atleast one title with Portugal.

Congrats to Greece, played in their own style as many times before, and were succesful. New european champions!
