emotional ****.. the slowdowns in PES3 pc demo

really tried everything mentioned in this forum to get rid of the slowmotion problem without success


Ok first of all ill start with my system specs:

AMD XP 1700+ 512mb DDR pc2100
SCS KS76A mobo
Windows XP pro service pack 1

Geforce 4 mx440 64 mb bios agp ap size is 128 mb
directx 9.0 latest detonator driver 52.14
Riva tuner + Fraps

15 inch flatscreen that runs at 75 hz
thrustmaster dual power 3 + thrustmaster wireless

installed the demo had the set screen at 800 x 600 details medium

played the game during the intro i get 12 fps
fraps goes to 45 fps when kicking off
the fist 5 seconds the game runs great at 60 fps but after that i get the slowdowns in midfield the fps go back to 40 after that the game its between 40 and 60 fps during the whole game is kinda slow

i noticed as soon as the fps drop the slowdown occurs

closed the game turned off AA and Vsync set my monitor default to 60hz

started the game same ol problem fps drop below 60 and get the slowdowns tried a lower screen 640x480 with low details crappy gfx but ah well same old problem

went back turned on Vsync tried other combinations started the game at 1024 X ??? with high detail level
the game runs constantly 30fps and slowmotion well at least its constant.. the must be some kind of option to limit the framerates!

the fifa demo runs at 45 fps gamespeed is ok but the gfx are even when turning of vsync and other stuff ah at least no slowdowns

please dont tell me my system dont meet the reqs or my gfx card is crap it is actually but GTA3 + vice city +maxpayne 2 hulk spiderman NBA LIVE NHL 2004 and all other games run great well for ISS3 but hate to even mention that game.

GF 4 is not even minimum its recommended!!!!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarg help me out here

i know you don't want to hear it but seriously it is probably down to your graphics card. the game obviously isn't coded well for the mx series of cards and even though they say they are geforce 4's they aren't. they are souped up geforce 2's and this is why a lot of people seem to be having trouble. try lowering your res and game details to the absolute minimum. in your nvidia display settings set everything to performance and minimum detail and see if it runs any smoother. hope this helps, but you should splash out on a better graphics card if you can afford it.

a GF 2 standard graphics card is way below minimum spec, and considering the game seems to rely on graphics card over CPU you need to upgrade.
You could probably get away with that MX if your CPU was nicely over recommended spec...but it isn't.

Well, I´d say its either Motherboard, graphics card or a not in a good shape system. What about other games, are they running fine? Then it´s probably your geforce 4 mx (mx is the problem!). D´you have a buddy who´s graphics card (different than yours) you could put in your system?

yeah buy a radeon 9600 or a gf4 ti ... fu** these mx cards

My voodoo3 can run the demo perfectly!!

you can disable you soundcard if you want get 60 fps

how many mbs PES Demo is??? Is it really 214mbs???

lets assume it is indeed the GFX card
howcome other games run fine at 60 + fps
gonna try and play arroud with direct sound settings

does anybody know how I can update the chipset?

Dude you have GeForce 4 MX.

Once you stop having GF4MX and start having something else the game will run properly.
I know cuz I have exactly the same problem.

(The full reason is that this game is a DirectX 8 game... And out stupid video card is merely DX7... So there you go.)
