[Career Mode] - Who will you sign?

Ok fellas, I've searched the forum for a thread on this, couldn't find one, so here goes.

After looking at a certain thread in the Soccer Forum, it made me think, who do I want to sign in my first season in Career mode?.

As Manchester United, I'd like to try and sign the following players.

Darius Vassell - He just looks like one of the best players in Europe when playing for England, after see'ing his performance when he came on against Turkey a couple of weeks ago, he did not fail to impress when Turkey travelled to England, I personally would like him to play for us in real life, not just FIFA 2004.

Pavel Nedved - Come on, who doesn't?(H)

Rivaldo - I'm not a fan of his to be honest, but there is just something about Rivaldo, he just fits that mould, I'd probably play him down the right wing, as a supplier for RVN.

good thread, it makes you start thinking ahead ;)

im not going to go with huge players since in a little team from second division i wont have that many prestige points to get him so first im gonna star winning and in winter trade session ill get some of the italians young players that are doing very well in the under21 like giraldino or somothing like that. i think its going to ruin the whole point of start from scratch and make my way up if i get big names in me team. dont know why but it just doesnt fell right to me:crazyboy:

I don't know how your going to get enough points for that mate. :D

I'm not so sure, but Its correct that this years transfer system is based around points instead of currency(£)?, telling from screenshots from Career Mode, if anyone with the Xbox version can confirm?. :)

I think points have something to do with it but it all comes down to Euros and pounds still.

I am looking at

Huysegarms from Lierese? in Belgium
Hleb from Stuttgart
Christanval from Marseille
Hislop from Portsmouth

all decent players who maybe are not stars butcan help my team.
I am going to transfer the whole team and create a well balanced team of players hopefully nobody will be over 80

Shaka Hislop is still a good keeper, he showed that on Saturday versus Liverpool, impressive display.

Well, good night, wet dreams!. (H) :crazyboy:

1 more before I go

Kevin Kuranyi(Stuttgart) - His feet did the talking against Manchester United a few weeks ago. :)

The Alpha Mexican
well, if i can do it with a Latin American club i'll do it with Toluca. And when i start buying players i'l keep it believeable (no Rauls, Nedveds, Owens, etc)

Possible signings:
Carlos Ruiz (GUA) LA Galaxy
Jose Luis "Parejita" Lopez (MEX) Pumas
Tomas Banda (MEX) Monterrey
Carlos Tevez (ARG) Boca Jts
Fernando Cavenaghi (ARG) River Plate

among others :D

big al

Senior Squad
i think iam going with young upcoming key players i every position for starters ill go with :

Landreau - GK
Mexes, Marquez - defense
joaquin, diego - midfield
Quaresma, C. Ronaldo, kaka - Forwards

Although i dont think any of us are going to have the enough money to buy a lot of big players if we are going to start from the bottom.

Here it goes the "Dream Team": Kahn, R. Carlos, F. De Boer, Marquez, Thuram, Zidane, Nedved, Ronaldinho, Beckham, Raul, and Ronaldo.
The Bench: Rustu, Dudek, Maldini, Desailly, Ferdinand Coly (Senegal), Cafu, Giggs, Rivaldo, Ballack, Torrado (Sevilla), Toti, Van Nistelrooy, Schevchenko, and Makaay!

Looks like I will be playing for a long time to build enough points and pounds.:rockman: :rockman:

Well, I didn't know that the transfer system was based on point. I think it's based on money as always.
Anyways, if I had to coose between those players I'd go for my favourite one: Riquelme :D

BTW look at this guy's team:

Now, that's what I call 'TOO MUCH'.
I don't like having SO MANY stars. I rather having 1, 2 or 3 'STARS' in a team, so that it makes it more interesting. You're playing with an unkown player and he passes the ball to... let's say... Beckham, it's nice to know you can count with a STAR in your team, don't you think? But having 11 stars in the same team makes it boring to me

See ya!

I'm gonna take a small team and try to sign Mehdi Mahdavikia (bundesliga best Right Winger) and Vahid Hashemian (bundesliga top joker)

u guys just want an easy game...my advice is: keep it real and start small...maybe buy ONE star to help you ease the way into stardom...and then when you are raking in the crowds and making the fans wild (oh the imagination), then you can start thinking of purchasing another star player...keep it realistic...there's only one Real Madrid-like team in the world...and that's of course Real Madrid...:)
