    ok..."alternative" music can range from punkier stuff like good charlotte to RATM. thats probably why its called "alternative"...alternative genres of music. 311 could be placed under that catergory. they have more of a new wave reggae/rock sound so...maybe thats why YOU wouldnt call them...
