I hate the pixelated DOF but I don't want to disable it either.

Looks like the DOF renders at half the resolution of rendering resolution, causing pixelation [It's still better than ignite engine, but it actually looks worse than FiFA 12]. graphics lua had some random values regarding DOF but changing those did nothing.

Do you know whether there's any lua file that controls the quality of DOF? DOF also becomes less blurry as you increase the resolution. At 4k it's still acceptable. But after few years, when we can bump resolution to 8k, the DOF will look hideous. So it's better to find whatever controls the blur radius of DOF.

I'm searching all the lua files right now, but so far I got no lead.

It is probably contained inside the DOF shaders and you won't be accessing those unless you have the ability to create/edit the shader coding.

Update: Tutorial for editing LODs with CD File Explorer 18:

Same as Frosty's Editor. But the location is at "Bundles\win32\fifa\fifagame\fifagame" double click on fifagame.

Then on the bottom section of the tool,

"fifagame\content\common\configs\lodgroups\player_lodgrp" double click on player_lodgrp.

Then change the values as shown in the screenshot.

For some reason, the location on File Explorer is different than that of Frosty's editor. But whatever.

Special thanks to regularcat for telling me where the files are located on CGFE 18. And thanks to Shawminator for File Explorer 18.

I could be wrong or there is something with my eyes, but I see a difference after editing the LOD Settings!

Well, you are supposed to see difference.

But if you meant you don't see a difference, then you forgot to apply the mod.

Once you made changes to the values, click on "save". Then the "Create mod" button becomes orange. When that happens, click on create mod. Then you should see difference.

Nah, you explained it right. I was wrong lol.

Anyway, the edited lods are more visible if you play with zoomed in cameras or if you are playing at high resolution.

Right now I'm trying to find out if it's possible to increase the draw distance of 3d grass.

I followed your step by step on setting the new LOD values and tried to export it as a mod file. It worked just fine with Frosty Mod Manager. No errors given when launching it via FMM. :33vff3o:

Now, talking about this draw distance of 3d grass. Can you imagine how great would that be?!

Yeah, it maximizes the LODs. So no more low poly zombies during gameplay.

You gotta use it via Frosty Editor. I tried exporting to mod format for use with Frosty'sModManager but then I can't launch the game. It just gives an error.

Anyway, here's the tutorial to do it by yourself:

Go to [root]\content\common\configs\lodgroups

Then double click on player_lodgroup

Now expand lods> [1]

And then expand coverage_0, coverage_1, coverage_2.

Now at right side, you will see three sets of lodvalues [Each of them represents lod values for each coverage group, highlighted in respective colors].

Set the values to 1000 for coverage_0

Set the values to 0 for coverage_1 and coverage_2

Thanks to Frosty's tools aswell.

Screenshots:

Also, let me know why exporting it to mod format and trying to launch it via Frosty'sModManager causes error and crash. Maybe I screwed something up? Or maybe it's because of the updates.

You can do the same for all other "member" trees. Just make sure "Coverage 0" is 1000 and "Coverage 1 and 2" are 0 for high and low.

For some reason, the location on File Explorer is different than that of Frosty's editor. But whatever.
