So I simmed a little bit more though another winter market in my City sim. All was great as the big moves were Nilmar to Inter for 23M (not sure what team he was on, couldn't make out the logo and tie it to a club, could be his current club in Brazil, I think he is still in Brazil) and Raul Meralsis (sp?) from Chelsea to Roma for 18M. In the last week though Chelsea sold Rooney to Arsenal for 47M! lol

Maybe there is no way to avoid some of these oddball moves, and they will happen every now and then as I believe I saw randomizing modifiers in the code. He seemed to have a quiet year last year, but they finished second to me and this year after a slow start he caught fire and was second in goals with 12 when he was sold, since this test sim does not have edits for the league bonuses, these teams do have alot of money they shouldn't have. I made these changes now and may keep this test through the next summer market and start a new now that I have made those edits.

Can anyone make out the information in playervalues.ini for club and international reputation? International reputation values seem zeroed out?
One other hope of it is player wages. I have been working on some edits to this file to make players at the very top clubs get paid very high wages (just like reality). This should make trading players more difficult for them. I will post something when I get an idea of whether it works.

Also, I edited the default formation of every single EPL team to make player positioning more predictive of actual positioning during games. (I used the excellent soccer tactics blog Zonal Marking as a resource.) The idea is two compress the forwards back towards midfield so that build up play takes longer and require the midfield. So, far it plays great. I'll post the database if doesn't crash my system mid-season. I'm hoping it will provide more tactical variance between teams.

Great!

Maybe changing this lines is possible to force IA to use more often his second reserve players...

Quote:
[AI_TEAMMANAGEMENT]
ENABLED = 1 // Should AI Team Management actually happen
ENERGY_SHOULDREST = 65 // Values less than mean player should rest
ENERGY_MUSTREST = 1 // Values less than mean player must rest
AVAILPLAYERS_TOREST = 22 // Number of available players in squad before resting 'should rest'
MINOVERALLFORBTEAM = 80 // Minimum overall for Team to consider using B Team
USEBTEAMIMPORTANCE = 50 // < than this Match importance to use B Team
USEBBENCHIMPORTANCE = 40 // < than this Match importance to use B Bench

Zonal Marking is a nice blog, thanks for sharing. When doing your positional changes, did you find the gameplay more dynamic for non-attack players? One thing the "other game" always has done better is to involve other non attacking players in the action. FIFA has been a little too stiff in that regard.

x119, changing those values may help for that. Seems to indicate when to rest players and what not. So if you changed the values, it would make the cpu play the reserves more to rest players.

So I tinkered with the EOS bonuses after making all league bonuses 0. A new sim as Milan saw me start off at 27M per my database edit of them (UEFA Fairplay as Exo suggested). I made the CL finals and got beat down by Bayern 3-1. In Coppa I lost early. I didn't pay attention until I got the message after the CL final that my bonus was 6.4M. By this time my budget had grown to 47M, selling no players during the year. The year was over, and I forgot to check this after my last game, although I finished second to Inter.

Not sure where the rest of the bonus came from unless it was also for the early parts of the CL? I received no message from the board though, this I am sure.

So my season was deemed as a "failed" one. I changed that value to 10% using Fidel's editor in cmsettings. Not sure if that is 10% bonus or 10% of another value? My funds then went up to 70M, so I gained another 23M.

Going back and forth as to whether or not this is too nigh. Has anyone else gotten good results when playing with the EOS numbers? I set mine as:

5
10
15
20
25

I have one question , did you noticed the 16 years old limit?

I mean , just found one good 15yo player, would like to make him play , but it says that's too young for the first team.
Another unreal point, to me.For example Freddy Adu was playing at 14 some years ago in MSL.Do you know if there's a walkaround about this?Maybe in some ini files?
Thanks in advance

The file is PLAYERRETIREMENT.ini that you can find in data1.big :

[PLAYER_RETIREMENT]

MIN_RETIREMENT_AGE = 30
MAX_RETIREMENT_AGE = 42
RETIREMENT_AGE_RANGE = 13
MIN_PLAYER_AGE = 16

MIN_PLAYER_AGE= 16 to MIN_PLAYER_AGE = 15
but i can't make them play , it says too young for first team, any other ideas?

That should help to get more subs. It is odd that they used a value of 1 for player must rest. Wonder why that was used. Perhaps changing it to a higher value breaks something? Worth testing if you want more subs.

I haven't tested but I wonder if those lines refer only to squad selection before the match, not in game subs. It's definitely worth testing however.

My guess is they used a value of 1 because teams with small rosters had weird selection issues when forcing all tired players to rest.

It's very easy to rename the cups, you just need to edit the eng_us.db with DBmaster, however the cup IDs are not there (the DB only have the names).

You should look at compobj.txt, it holds all of tournament structure and define the IDs of Cup.

Thanks guys for the information. Still need to do more work to see how big the bonuses are for cups. They seem ok for now, I think at least. I like that your funds can be raised from doing good in competitions, it just may be too generous.
