Historic World Cups

I have rosters for the qualification rounds and finals for the three 1930's world cups. I'm hoping to keep pokin away at getting a few more cups done.

I'm curious if anyone is interested in working on getting some kits done for these squads? 30's kits are quite simple but I want to dedicate my time to rosters.

I'll release what I have soon.

1934 World Cup

1938 World Cup

1958 World Cup

1962 World Cup

1966 World Cup

1970 World Cup

1974 World Cup Finals only

There were problems with previous compilations of these patches... Here is an attempt to recompile those patches:

Version 2:

World Cup 1966

World Cup 1970

--------------------------

BACK UP YOUR FILES BEFORE IMPORTING AND CAREFULLY READ THE INSTRUCTIONS:

NOTES ON INSTALLATION (PLEASE READ BEFORE IMPORTING ANY FILES) - Don't install players who appear red in the patch window. Make a list of all players in red then look in your game to see why they are red. If you don't you might replace an existing player with a historic one of the same name. The safest, smartest way to import a CMP patch is to grab a pen and paper and make a note of any anomolies. You should not have any problems with any items in green text in the patch window. If it is red in the patch window... DO YOUR RESEARCH!

Unfortunately I can't. I'm hoping down the line that we can begin to get faces and more detail into these patches but the first goal is to make all of the tournaments.

I'm taking a break from this project for now. I got a decent way into 1966 and hope to return to make a few patches at some point in the near future but for now I needed a break.

If anyone wants to help, let me know!

A while back filefront completely redid their site. Since then, my old files were erased or links were switched, removed, changed. Anyway, which files were you looking for exactly?

I noticed a couple of mistakes in that 66 patch. They are minor so I'll probably not worry about it immediately. The Honduran kits are missing but you can easily copy the '62 kits to '66. They are identical. The English ball is wrong.

I had fun playing the North Koreans to a World Cup win. Couldn't get the Americans past the first round. Sad.

1934 World Cup

I had previously released the 1934 World Cup for FIFA '07. There were a number of bugs and fixes required for the FIFA '09 version. I just played through the entire tournament and worked for a couple of hours tonight to try to iron all the kins out. I'm sure there are a couple of oversights but this should be a pretty good version of the 1934 tournament.

By the way, when I played the tournament, many of the results were quite similar to the real result. It wasn't until the Quarterfinals that things started to get quirky... But many of the teams in 1934 were quite evenly matched so several of the results were narrow and could have ended quite differently.

In my tournament, Spain knocked out Italy. France then knocked out Spain. Finally, the Germans knocked out Czechoslovakia and beat France to win the tournament.

It was fun!

1938 World Cup

In my personal tournament, Germany qualified automatically having won the previous tournament. That left Italy to try to qualify through qualification group A with Sweden.

Netherlands made it all the way to the Semis before losing to Czechoslovakia, Hungary lost to Italy on PKs in the Semis. Italy beat Czechoslovakia by a goal A.E.T.. All in all, it was fairly accurate given the modification in qualification structure based on 1934 results... Again, quite fun.

I'm going to play 1950 again and am still working on 1970.

As soon as I get a chance, I'll try to recompile it. I have only about 12 teams left to do for 1970 and suddenly my school workload is picking up... It might take me a little while...

Completing 1974 seems like it is such a long way off... I really hoped to finish 1970 before the damn semester started... Just short!
