"With the gameplay, we're trying to add that realism and that depth, so it's still unpredictable, it's still organic after 50 or 100 hours..."
"...The ball's now more realistic and less predictable. The physics of the players, the acceleration curve, are much more realistic, and there's a lot more variety and realism in the physical interaction of the players..."
"I think we've done a great job; I think we've made the biggest improvement to FIFA gameplay ever..."
"The shooting system - you can't just turn and shoot. Well, you can, but you're less likely to be on target, so it's all about having composure on the ball and on the button. It's about taking all those micro-challenges and situations and just going bang-bang-bang all the way through, adding detail..."

Exactly! I've been waiting soo long for EA to realise that the Americans and Canadians alone can't do a complete or even "close to good" football game. Finally some English and Asian people!

If a country where a game is produced is the sole predictor of a great/poor game, then Winning Eleven would be a poor game as it is produced in Japan which itself has a mediocre at best football league and national team, but it's not. The biggest reason FIFA has played poorly over the years is because the game was made to make money by having all the licenses and leagues and pretty visuals, but that in itself is not enough to sell the game anymore. WE is taking a share of the football market because it has great gameplay and EA must now improve their gameplay to compete.
So please enough of this "FIFA is crap because it's made in Canada and canadians don't know football" crap, I'm Czech by origin and I know my footy, I can't help it the government hasn't injected $ into the national football program and the league is bad...
drjohnnyboy, I didn't have any intention at all to say or clam that Canadians are crap or stuff like this!!!!!! Did you read my post or you just want to say what you have in mind calming it on others!?!?!?!
I said: "...EA to realise that the Americans and Canadians alone can't do a complete..."
Did you see the word "alone"??? I meant by the post that EA needs some more hands from different nationalities, especially when it is about football, I mean for the love of god, there is no comparison in football spirit when it comes to England against Canada or many other countries!!!
I didn't and will never say that Americans suck or Canadians suck, or even Japanese suck, because they all don't; EA only needs some more football minds to team up with them "inside" the EA studios not only through Internet and phone! I didn't even say anything about "a country where a game is produced"!!!!
Anyways, It's good that EA at last have started teaming up more nationalities to their team, good for them and us.

my comment was not sepcifically directed at you, I've seen comments like this on these forums for years and I finally felt it was necessary to speak up, that is all...no harm intended pal.
It's ok mate. I get what you mean and it also annoys me too.
By the way guys this part of the interview is funny:
"...I joined EA in September to work on FIFA; before that I was at Ubisoft in Paris, doing shooters like Ghost Recon and stuff, and as I was looking around, the last place I expected to end up was doing sports games at EA..."
Will this shooter game producer make FIFA 07 as great as he and the new site clam?? Let us wait and see.
