Yeah, the original was really good but I dont even want to consider watching the remake.
Finally got round to watch Nine Queens the other day, on Hakeem's recommendation. I thought it was really good, one of the best South American films I have seen, with great acting and a really interesting storyline. While it is not perhaps quite as developed or complex as other con-artist films such as The Sting, it is just as good to watch and the fact it is subtitled is hardly noticable. Definately worth seeing IMO.
- Yup he is fantastic. Probably my favourite Coen Brothers comedy, the surrealism works here better than ever before, plus Buscemi and Goodman (sp??) provide excellent support.
ill say one thing for Boyz in the Hood, it definatly inspired a lot of movies after it, or at the biggest extreme; computer games (coughsanandreas). Not that the movie did anything for me i must admit
TROD.

What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.
finally saw "King of New York" after all these years, mainly because I was reading on a few sites how some critics and fans swore it was better than Scarface...
It was pretty good, but does anyone else find it very over-rated? I didnt find anything spectacular about it.
yeah, certainly agree with that. I think it's a very good movie, but I'm not sure why so many people consider it to be such a masterpiece. I've even seen it on a couple "Top 10 movies ever" type lists, like c'mon...let's be reasonable here
And right after Shark Tale I watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. What an awesome movie I can't believe it wasn't nominated for movie of the year
It was the remake i think. The one that came out in 2003 with Jessica Biel in it.
I really liked the new one.
have the original on DVD but havent seen it yet.
