So I started a new game with Arsenal for a bit of fun, bought Otamendi and Aerola (young keeper). 4-2-3-1 with Nasri and Walcott on the wings, Song and Wilshere holding midfield and Cesc free to do whatever the **** he wants. It got me pumped enough to have the guts to pick up the Pentagon, but I might post a few pics of the Arsenal game as well!

For the time being though, with Aves things are not so good in the Orangina, but in a League Cup tie I just played Rio Ave, and beat them 3-2 in a great game, in which the opening goal was this gem from my right-back CLAUDEMIR

TBH, Wilshere is a good player at the beginning of the game, but you might consider playing Arshavin on the left wing and Nasri next to Song in the central midfield. At least for the first season.

I know, but I want to develop Wilshere as quickly as possible, plus Nasri's already injured (big surprise...), so it's Andrei on the wing. Also brought Rodney Sneijder to cover for that Inside Forward(the left winger role of Nasri/Arshavin)

                Glad to hear it

                Here are the three buys:

Sneijder is probably not a legend but he was a bargain and he can be useful when in the middle of the season I have like 45 injured players.

How's Van Persie doing? He had a monster season for me at Arsenal, playing him as an inside forward at the right wing. With Arshavin playing in a similar role on the left wing and Chamakh as target man I had a very deadly forward line. Van Persie kind of became the Robben of my team.

Oh and I played Nasri on midfield, in an attempt to try and create a midfield-duo a la Iniesta-Xavi at Barca. Didn't totally work out though because Fabregas had a bit of an average season by his standards.

Nonetheless I won all the prices available to me, including the CL with a beautiful winner by Van Persie versus Real in the final. Actually while I'm writing this, I'm wondering why I dropped that game.

I'm not a big fan of Chamakh, so Robin as the Advanced Forward. Walcott as a right Winger and Nasri/Arshavin as left Inside Forward. Fabregas loose behind Robin as an Advance Playmaker, Wilshere as a Box-to-box and Song(Denilson, because Alex is injured) as a Ball-winning midfielder.

Don't underestimate Chamakh. He's big and strong, but also pretty good with the ball. He scored like 18 goals for me, despite his poor finishing and being out injured for a long time. Plus Van Persie and Arshavin got bags of goals thanks to him holding up the ball and setting them up for a good shot.

Usually my attack went like this: My defense conquered the ball. Either Fabregas or Nasri would get the ball to Chamakh, who than either set up the two inside forwards or went for goal himself. It worked wonders for me.

Oh I meant not a big fan in real life, which usually influences my in-game decisions

Dispatched Almunia to Benfica (win-win for me ), and trying to get Lukaku on loan, with hopefully a future buy.

Oh my God oh my God oh my GOD! I'm literally waving my arms at each goal, what a cracking game! I finally put in a decent sequence of matches and then it culminates with this! Can I actually go all the way in the Cup? So far the match talks have worked wonders for those matches against bigger teams... I'm just ecstatic that my team have finally started to pick up pace!

Here are the fixtures, I just can't believe the last 4 results! Huuh, I mean, yes, absolutely expected this, we're thinking one game at a time, staying focused, it's the fruit of hard work and all that

edit: Marítimo's manager got the sack

F*ck I drew Porto. Good thing is if I pull a win out of the blue I will actually consider myself favourite to win it!

edit: I'm seriously hitting the jackpot since the tactic change (I changed tactics before the Varzim 3-1 win). Trashed Boavista and managed Espinho, now it's cup time again, I'm really confident I can get a positive performance against Porto!
I'm climbing up the table like nobody's business and if I get a decent result against Porto and manage a 3rd/4th place (or even a promotion!) in the Orangina I'm so jumping ship and trying to get in a bigger club

Holy ****. What a counter-attack performance by the team! I cancelled they're attempts to enter the box and was as effective on the counter as I could possibly be! This wouldn't be possible without the sequence of amazing morale-boosting results, and by Porto's dismissal of the game with weaker players, but I don't give a ****!
