FIFA 17 Modding Process & Resolving Files (Keep This Thread Clean)

    Thought i would throw what ive been playing about with out there,
    similair idea to the explorer from fifa 16 but still in early tests for obvious reasons. as people have said the flow for ther screen below is:-
    layout.toc>contentlaunchsb.toc>contentlaunchsb.sb.

    then we should be able to fetch the specific file from the cat/cas rather than searching through them

    there is alot of info for each part, the one below is the champions cup adboard. not sure what will be usefull for us, with the amount of people working on this i hopefull its only a matter of time.

          thanks to Niko130391 for the hint!

          The Squadfiles are still the same (now like in FIFA 13,14 and 15 with a better name like "Squads[....]" not only "data" like in 16.... you can open them like in the past with internal manager 12 by rinaldo!

          The structure is the same so normally I think database structure will be the same too.

            So I think we can use the Exporter to save tables as .txt and the Merger to update and join data to a Fifa 16 database! Better than a kick in the ass!

              What is so hard to understand about no posting in this thread if the content of the post has no useful information in making modding this game possible.

                I don't know if this already has been posted, but there is an QuickBMS script for Frostbite available.
                Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work on the FIFA 17 Demo, but that maybe an issue on my end.

                It also seems a lot of info about his engine can be found when searching on BF3 (see QBMS forums), but don't know if this counts for FIFA 17. It looks like the SB files as example are the same.

                strings.exe can be used to extract code/info.
                Haven't found the time to take a look, but it seems the career mode files are moved *but this could be because of the demo build.

                Hope you guys can find the (decrypt) key again!

                  I found this to open .sb and .toc files. Maybe can help someone who knows about modding.

                      The file are compressed using an unknown method. Until this is found we won't be doing anything this year

                            A few have been but none use the same flag. So they use different method than FIFA.

                              Just a few things I've tried:
                              ..\Origin Games\FIFA 17\Data\locale.ini is processed when the game starts. I have tested a few strings ([] SKIP_BOOTFLOW = 1, etc.), and it looks like gameplay strings are being loaded, that may help tweaking the gameplay. There are more files (like initfs_Win32) you can open with Np++ and explorer the string values.

                              Unfortunately career strings aren't effected, which makes me believe this has been rewritten to other code.
                              When creating the folders like it was in FIFA 16 (dlc/dlc_FootballCompEng/dlc/FootballCompEng/data/), copying *.ini files, the game crashes on startup.
                              Maybe some sort of protection. :/

                                It's possible open the FIFA 17 squads using Internal Master 12. So the DB structure, probable is the same.
