  • Modification of Regularcat's gameplay

    I loved Regularcat's gameplay. But, I quickly got past it and was scoring 5-7 goals per game with through balls past the outside back. So, I endeavored to try to modify it to address some of my concerns.

    My over goal was this to bring down the number of goals scored both ways. I also wanted to reintroduce cards. For some reason, regularcat's gameplay removed cards.

    I wanted to accomplish this in the following ways:

    1. Make the goalkeepers WAY better

    2. Increase the marking dramatically

    3. Increase error in passing (a little)

    4. Increase pursuit of runners

    5. Decrease shooting skill in close proximity.

    6. Decrease volley accuracy.

    7. Decrease heading skills

    Secondary Goals:

    1. Increase pursuit of loose balls.

    2. Increase acrobatic clearances.

    3. Make players respond faster after a collision.

    4. Increase shot power and accuracy from distance.

    5. Increase technical dribbling

    6. Increase through ball accuracy.

    7. Increase first time shooting.

    8. Increased short passing accuracy.

    9. Increased balance, ball control, vision, and technical awareness, aggression, determination.

    Personal preference changes (you can reverse these easily if you like):

    1. Changed Home/Away difficulty mods

    2. Removed chemistry mods

    3. Removed power header

    I used comments to track what changes I made. So you can easily track what I did where.

    The end result is a game that I find more challenging. It's quite scrappy. You can score from distance but it is hard. You can score from headers but it is hard. You need to aim carefully when in the box (or you'll shank your shot).

    The goalkeepers are way better, but they also make mistakes. So, sometimes it's worth it to fling balls at the goal. You might get a Robert Greene moment.

    You really have to keep the ball moving and carefully control your touches. Gotta play quick.

    What I don't like as much: Occasionally passes seem to take an odd angle. I think this is a combination of "use pass difficulty (or whatever it is)" and "Enable avoidance game" that is causing this.

    The scrappiness can get frustrating. But, I also think it is accurate to real life. Lots of fouls in the middle of the pitch.

    I always recommend backing up everything in FIFA before modifying anything. You WILL likely regret it if you don't.

      nice man, glad someone could make the gameplay better using what i had accomplished when i was working on it.

      i was never very good at FIFA so it worked for me, can't please everyone.

      if i still had 11 installed i'd give it a shot.

      i could always install it but it being so badly outdated i couldn't play it.
